The poppy seeds gives your skin a lovely exfoliating effect that removes dead skin cells and give you a natural glow! I have been meaning to make a beginner cold process soap tutorial and here it is. Today is the beginning of are cold process soap recipe tutorials.
This recipe is all natural and will consist of oils you can find at your local grocery store or big box store. I find the shortening was very moisturizing and I didn’t need to much lotion when using the soap. I thought this recipe was easy to begin with and I hope you enjoy it. If you have no clue where to find mica, I am sure you can find it on Amazon!
This soap came to me as my obsession for Vitamin C. I took high doses of vitamin C powder daily and I have put vitamin C serums on my face and body and it just gives me the chemical non-natural heebie jeebies. I have made a lemon poppy seed soap before so instead of lemon we use orange and instead of using the melt and pour method we simplify the cold process soap method.
a dry climate like I do, the soap can dry and get hard in about 3 days to 1 week. But if you live in a climate where its humid and rains a lot the soap can take 9 days to 3 weeks to dry and harden. Now the cure time, this is different than the dry time. The cure time is when the oils and the lye have more time to combine in the soap. Longer the cure time the more lather the soap gives off and the less the cure time the less lather. I like to let my soaps sit in the mold roughly around 10 days to about a month depending on the recipe.
