Making Citrus Deodorant!
Hey all you Savvy Natualistas! Welcome to DIY Saturday with me your host Shundara in this episode of DIY Saturday we are making deodorant! With a lovely citrus scent! I really love making deodorant from scratch, because it has a lot of benefits that you just can’t find in store bought deodorant! Make your own all natural citrus deodorant that is not only good for you, but baking soda free. This recipe only requires a few simple ingredients to make natural deodorant for less than 8 bucks.
The reason why I decided to make this deodorant is because I ran out of my all natural one that I normally buy. I was being cheap and didn’t want to waste any money, and since I had all the ingredients it was super cost effective to just do a DIY for the time being. Besides I really wanted to show you guys the type of deodorant I use to sell at my craft shows! Making your own natural deodorant is a really great way to get into the trying natural products!
So let’s talk about the deodorant DIY for a bit! There are a few things that I forgot to mention in the video. You will need maybe ¼ -½ cup of beeswax. This is to ensure that your deodorant does not melt and stays solid. If you skip the beeswax your deodorant will not solidify. I also recommend placing it in the fridge or freezer overnight if you are in a warm climate.
Citrus Deodorant Recipe:
4 oz. Shea butter
4 oz. coconut oil
¼ – ½ cup beeswax
1.5 oz. arrowroot powder
1.5 oz. kaolin clay
.25 oz. sweet or blood orange essential oil
