I’m officially putting my sugar free powder sugar to work! I wanted to start with an easy recipe since Easter is on the way and we will need a sugar fix! I love butter frosting and I know moderation is the key, but hey I’m American and like most Americans I love to eat big portions (every now and then)! I don’t know about you but I like to have more than three sugar cookies with butter frosting! This recipe is a bit different from a traditional butter frosting. It does not have a creamy or whipped look, it’s not overly sweet, and it acts and feels more like laffy taffy. That’s ok, because once you smear it on top of your cupcakes or cookies, take a bite and it melts in your mouth! I am working on a frosting that gets creamy and whipped, but I got really good reviews for this recipe. I just had to share it with you!
What You Will Need:
1½ cups powder sugar substitute
2 tbsps. almond milk
1 tsp. vanilla extract
4tbsps. whipped butter, soften
3 drops food coloring
Combine sugar butter, vanilla and 1 tbsp. milk, beating until combine
add the last tbsp. of milk and beat until the mixture becomes creamy
Three drops of food coloring is more then enough, but you can always add two more if you like!
Stir in food coloring and blend until mixed
Once done spread over cookies and decorate
