Coconut oil has become very popular these days. I realized that it became very popular when the price of the non-organic kind went up, and the container is much smaller then it use to be.
No matter the price I am a big fan of coconut oil and can’t live without it. I use it in most of my cooking and I always enjoy adding it to my skin. I have even met people who take a tablespoon a day.
I highly doubt I will ever take a tablespoon of coconut oil a day (I like to eat, and I can save my calories for other treats).
Sugar and Coconut Face Wash Recipe
¾ cup sugar
½ cup coffee grounds
¾ cup face wash (I used peppermint liquid soap)
3 tbsps. coconut oil
Recipe Directions: In a small bowl add sugar and coffee grounds and mix until combined. Add coconut oil and mix until it has been mixed into the sugar and coffee grounds. Pour the soap over the mixture and stir until it has been combined. Place in air tight container and store.
*Tips* The coffee grounds I used were baked in the oven until there was no longer any moisture. I also pulsed them just a bit in the food processor so they were not to abrasive for my face. Make sure you use a finer grain of sugar for this face wash.

I love coconut oil too but don’t think I would eat a tablespoon on it’s own either. This face wash is such a great way of using it though and I can imagine how good this smells with the toasted coffee grounds in here 🙂 Thanks for sharing and hope you have a great weekend Shundara!

Ah, I need to use some of that coconut oil I left in the pantry – I bet it’s in a solid state already. I love using coconut oil in my hair and my dry patches. Darn it, this facial wash recipe looks sooooo yummy to eat – and coffee grounds, ahhhhh the smell of coffee! Beautiful beautiful beautiful xx
