Ginger is one of my favorite spices that I had to learn to love with time. When I was a child I could not stand eating ginger. I remember my grandma making us eat a big chunk of it before bedtime and I wanted to gag. Now I eat it almost all the time and try to get Josh too as well. This scrub smelled just like ginger candy and soda wrapped into one! If you’re a big fan of ginger you will love the smell of this scrub and the lovely aroma. You may hear a voice in the back of your head telling you its ok have a taste! I’m going to be honest I had a taste before I added the essential oils. It really is good enough to eat. I used a ginger essential oil which has a strong smell. If you can’t find any don’t worry it still has a lovely smell. Ginger sugar scrub would make a lovely gift for the holidays.
Ginger Sugar Scrub Recipe:
3 cups sugar
2 cups oil (I used coconut)
1 tbsp. fresh ginger (chopped finely)
1.5 tbsps. ginger powder
5 drops essential oil (optional)
Recipe directions: In a bowl place sugar and ginger and stir until the ginger is incorporated into the sugar. Add oil to the sugar and stir until all the oil is incorporated into the sugar. If you don’t have any fresh ginger you can use 2-3 tablespoons of dried ginger. Place in air tight container and store.

I am allergic to coconut oil. Would olive oil be a good replacement for this?
