We had a blast although we didn’t catch any thing. I learned how to throw a fishing pole, bait a hook and all the good things that go with fishing. The day started at 5 in the morning (since we made snacks last night I wanted to sleep in); it took an arm and leg for me to get out of bed but after a few shakes I was up and ready to go.It took us about an hour to get to the lake; and of course the whole time I thought I was going to die because of all the cliffs. The road went up and down like a roller coaster and I felt my heart jump into the bottom of my stomach (I am not into roller coasters) .
When we finally got to the lake the scenery was beautiful it took my breath away. From all the trash, I could tell that there were other people who love to party at the lake. To get to the fishing spot we went up a sandy trail that led us to a rocky trail; there were little cliffs we had to go down to pick a fishing spot, it took us about 15 minutes to find one ( I didn’t want to fish just anywhere). When we finally did, josh showed me how to line and bait a fishing pole. When all the poles were in the water we waited for a bite but there was nothing. Another couple caught three catfish, so Josh decided to get his special bait and wanted to take that spot once they decided to leave; as soon as they left we moved to their fishing spot. After we set up Josh decided to work on his photography skills, while I played with my fishing pole that got caught in the bushes and trees more times then I could count.
He got a picture of this beautiful dragon fly that would not leave the poles alone. I think it was mating with the poles, this little guy was just stuck to the fishing pole and kept coming back it was so weird!! Few hours after we were at are new spot; while Josh was luring, the other pole had a bite! He ran tripping over everything just to get the pole. When he finally reeled in the fish, it snapped from the line and swam away. After waiting two more hours for another bite it got pretty warm so we decided to leave.
I surprised Josh with his birthday cake, I would have had a recipe but the frosting did not work it melted and collapsed into the cake. When my birthday comes I will try this cake again and have a recipe, it was so good! Don’t try to count the candles because I have way too many, I lost count and added more then I should. Josh waited all day to dig into this cake, so he was not waiting at all for me to try and photographed the cake.
