Friday I went to whole pay check (Whole Foods) and realized maybe it’s time that I buy everything online. The salad bar and hot bar always gets me, everything smells so good! I usually purchase a few items and it usually costs the price of a meal at a five star restaurant. Why do they charge by the pound knowing I am going to get more then one pound of food.
I do love there bakery section and they had a very delicious cookie that had sugar crusted cinnamon on top. Bought a few and ate those, I decided to go back and bought a few more. By the time I was done I spent almost enough to cover all my bills for a month (not just cookies). Shopping at Whole Foods to me is like going to your favorite clothing store and spending to much. Oh you gotta love a grocery store that can take your whole paycheck without you even knowing.
The cookies have been captivating me all day (as well as my thoughts about going to whole foods only on special occasions) I decided that I must recreate these cookies I must. I have no clue what they put in them but after a few trays I think I got it right!
Cinnamon Crusted Sugar Cookie Recipe:
½ cup whipped butter (I used salted)
1 cup granulated sugar
2 large eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
1 ¾ cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
½ tsp. salt
2 tsp. cinnamon
¼ cup granulated sugar
Recipe Directions: Preheat oven to 375 degrees. In small bowl combine flour, baking soda, salt and set aside. In a large bowl cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy add eggs and vanilla beat well. Mix dry ingredients into wet ingredients. Mix ¼ cup sugar and cinnamon into a bowl. Drop tablespoon of dough on to a cookie sheet lined with parchment paper. Flatten cookies with bottom of greased glass and sprinkle cinnamon sugar on top. Bake in the oven for 10 minutes and let cool.
