I wonder if it’s me or is everyone getting ready for fall a little too quickly; summer doesn’t “technically” end until September 21st but it seems everyone is already in the spirit. Stores have already got the Halloween decorations and candy out, everyone is on pintrest pinning everything apples and pumpkins. I am wondering where they are getting these pumpkins because I have not seen a fresh one in the store. Maybe they are getting canned pumpkin. I guess since school has started back up everyone is getting ready for fall as quickly as possible (thanksgiving break).
Well not me!! I refuse to rush fall, I am going to enjoy the summer season until I see the last pack of fresh berries at the store from the U.S. I will wait until I see those big honey crisp apples pile up and then my fall adventures will begin. Right now I will be enjoying summer, because all that sunlight after 5 is the best! I will enjoy summer until the fat honey crisp apples sang. Blackberries have been calling my name and I have not got a chance to get some so when I seen them on sale I knew I had to stock up. Once your done sifting the liquid whatever you do do not throw that pulp away!
Blackberry Limeade Recipe:
- 2 cups Blackberries
- 1 cup sugar
- ½ cup water
- ½ cup lime juice
- 4-6 cups water
Recipe Directions: In a small pot boil 1/2 cup water and add sugar until the sugar has dissolved into a simple syrup. In the food processor add blackberries and lime juice; blend until you get a puree, add simple syrup to food processor and blend. Sift puree through a fine mesh strainer, once done add 4-6 cups a water depending on taste.
