Coconut Coffee Body Scrub Cubes!!
Coconut Coffee Body Scrub Cubes!! Coconut Coffee Body Scrub Cubes are a great way to exfoliate with personalized cubes. I know scrubs in a jar can be such a hassle, if you do not have a squeeze bottle the scrub tends to go everywhere. That’s why I really enjoy making homemade scrub cubes; you can use one cube for your whole body.
I usually keep these bad boys in the freezer (they will melt if I leave them out) and when it’s time for a shower I go and get one. They are great for exfoliation and only require two ingredients you will be hooked on these cubes. The shower may get a little messy but it is worth it.
Start off with 2 cups of coffee grounds; make sure all the excess liquid is out of your grounds. I used a stocking to squeeze the liquid out; you can use a nut bag if you like. Once done add 1 cup of coconut oil to the grounds and stir, once incorporated add 15 drops of essential oil.
I used sweet orange (I am addicted) and lemon grass. The lemon grass over powered the sweet orange, but they did get rid of the coffee smell in the scrub.
Once you stir in the essential oils you can use little muffin tins (use two it can get a little oily) or an ice cube tray.
Place the scrub into the molds and put in the freezer and let it set. Once firm pop out of the tray and store in a plastic bag or an air tight container.

Where do you get the essential oils?
Shundara@Savynaturalista says
Sprouts, whole foods, and craft stores like hobby lobby and michaels. You can also use flavoring oils at Walmart but they half to be pure oil no water 🙂

I was wondering as well: if you can use fresh ones from the bag why would you brew it first? Fresh from the bag seems much easier to me.. And does the higher caffeine count make a difference to your skin?

Shundara, First, don’t listen to the “Nay Sayers”! It’s great that you even share! Everyone is either complaining about the coffe used or unused! First, if you want coffe to stain everything, then by all means use fresh coffee! If you want the coffee grounds for exfoliation, then use used grounds! You are right about getting the excess liquid(water) out of your grounds! Why? That’s a no brainier! Saundra! I take my k-cups, about 20-30 empty them out on a paper towel on a baking sheet, I let the air dry the grounds, it use a plastic fork and will through out the day, tussle the grounds around with the fork, allowing the grounds underneath to also dry! OR, I will collect all the grounds that are almost dry, and lay them in a thin layer covering a cookie sheet, then I will pop them in a warmed up oven at 175-200degrees. I will then let it dry in the oven, and pull it out when completely dried. Then I can store the USED grounds in a caped jar for any further need for coffee grounds. (Note:I sometimes will lay my orange or lemon rinds sliced thin on the cookie sheet with the grounds) buy doing this process, you will save a lot of time in the future for grounds and fruit rinds! Also, a lot of money!!! So, Shundra, thanks for even giving many your precious time! And for newbies, some advice. PS: a little bit , NOT A LOT, of bees wax, will indeed help to hold it with out having to use a fridge. ?
Shundara@Savynaturalista says
Awww Lola thank you so much!! I really appreciate it, you are the best!! 🙂
Andrea says
Do you use coffee grounds after you have brewed the coffee??
Rebbecca says
You can use fresh or brewed coffee grounds. Unbrewed coffee has a higher caffeine content which is, at least for some, half of the reason for the grounds.
