I wanted to talk about how I decided to take up yoga (again) in my attempt to finally do a hand stand but I will save that for another time. What I really want to talk about is all the makeup contouring I have been seeing lately all over Pinterest and Facebook. I find it fascinating that you can look like a total different person with just makeup; I guess my mom was right “when she said makeup does wonders”.
Contouring should be used on those makeover shows, just for the final awe! I know if I was asked to be on a makeover show I would definitely want to look like a total different person just to shock everyone! The best part if the law was ever after me (not that they are) all I would need is some makeup contouring and I could live in the same town without anyone knowing. I would need lots of practice before that happen because if I ever tried to do contouring I would end up looking like I belong in a circus instead of on a runway. I am defiantly a fashion and make up girl but I prefer a natural and simple look. What about you? Now let’s get to what you all came for the Cinnamon Sugar Body Scrub! If you want your bathroom to smell like cinnamon I suggest you make this scrub tonight. It reminds me of holiday baking, although it’s 90 out and the “winter lawn” has been planted. I like to switch the oils I use in my sugar scrubs and since I have been using coconut oil for a while I decided to use sunflower oil. I know coconut oil has a lot of benefits but it does not mean other oils are bad. Some oils are just as good if not better. It all depends on the quality of the oil whether it came from a nut or a sunflower. Whichever oil you decide to use to make this cinnamon sugar scrub, remember cinnamon is a great anti-inflammatory that will make your bathroom smell just like you finished baking cinnamon cookies.
Cinnamon Sugar Body Scrub Ingredients:
1 cup sugar
¼ cup raw sugar
1 tbsp. cinnamon
1 cup oil (I used sunflower)
10 drops of cinnamon essential oils
Cinnamon Sugar Body Scrub Directions: In a bowl place sugar, raw sugar, and cinnamon. Mix all the ingredients until the cinnamon is incorporated into the sugar; slowly add essential oil and sunflower oil stirring until all the mixture is covered in oil. Place in air tight container and store. If you leave the lid off the jar and add more essential oils and your bathroom will smell lovely.

Thanks for the great recipe! I usually grab an oil I haven’t used in awhile!
Btw, you may want to do a global change – where you used “defiantly”, you really wanted the word “definitely”.

Thank you, I get confused sometimes with words. Thanks for reading and helping I need it..

Do you really need the raw sugar? because i can’t seem to find it at local stores. even bio stores. does it really make a difference to the recipe?
Thank you!
Shundara@Savynaturalista says
No you don’t need it at all for the cinnamon sugar scrub.. 🙂

Any suggestions for places or websites to get nice jars? I think they would make wonderful Christmas gifts!
Shundara@Savynaturalista says
I would try the dollar store. Hobby Lobby has some really nice jars.. 🙂
Andrea says
Hi, was just wondering if you know how long the shelf life is for this body scrub.. if it lasted long enough for you to find out that is?
Shundara@Savynaturalista says
If you keep the scrub in an airtight container it well last a few weeks unopened. Once you open it and use it keep moisture out of it and it will last up to a week maybe longer.. 🙂
Andrea says
🙂 Thank you.
lauren says
How long will this last before going bad? I want to give it as a Christmas gift, but I don’t want to make it too early. Shelf life?
Shundara@Savynaturalista says
It lasts a pretty long time before going bad about a few weeks. The key is to keep moisture out of it, if any moisture his the scrub it will go bad..
Samantha says
When using coconut oil, do u melt the coconut oil first, or mix it as the hardened coconut oil? I have already made this with melting the coconut oil but the scrub looks really runny and nothing like your picture. lol
pls help
Thanks
Shundara@Savynaturalista says
My coconut oil is usually soft so there is no need for me to melt it. You can try using less coconut oil if it is to runny. Let me know if you have any more questions.. 🙂
Daniela Hidalgo says
Is the cinnamon essential oil really necessary for this body scrub? Because I can’t seem to find it where I live , and I want to try this 🙁
Shundara@Savynaturalista says
Oh you don’t need the cinnamon essential oil at all you will still get the texture of the scrub with out the essential oils! I prefer it because it provides a lovely scent, but you may smell like a bakery with just the cinnamon powder. 🙂 Use just a bit more
Zina says
Great recipe, thank you for sharing. I try it with sunflower oil, but the mixture is too runny, even thought I followed your recipe. Do you think I have to use less oil?
Kim Bemis says
Shundra, thank you so much for the cinnamon sugar scrub recipe. I’ve recently taken up making my own sugar scrubs, for me my friends, and clients (as a thank you). I made a version of this, with vanilla and powdered cinnamon. I look forward to adding your recipe to my repetoire!
Shundara@Savynaturalista says
Oh boy vanilla and powdered cinnamon!!!! I would love to be your client
Zazil says
Hi, what is raw sugar (I’ve never heard of it where I live), can I substitute it with brown sugar?.
Thanks
Shundara@Savynaturalista says
Yes you can it’s just sugar that hasn’t been processed
